- Synchronizing the phone
- To synchronize a phone with the Windows OS means to maintain a updated link between the phone data(word documents ,pictures ,emails , contacts ,etc) and the data in your PC. We can specify what of data we want updated constantly (like emails), i.e. for example we can download emails to the PC from the phone and later when we synchronize the phone with the pc ,the new mails present in the PC are downloaded to the phone. This works both ways.
For doing this, we need ActiveSync software. Get the latest version from the site : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync45.mspx
Or get the software installed from the CD provided with the phone.
Next connect the phone to the computer via cable. Note: For users who have installed firewalls in their computer ,please grant access rights to the activesync Software. If the phone has been properly connected to the PC, then the green icon in the windows taskbar will start rotating. This means that the phone is getting connected to the computer.

After this a wizard window pops up showing the settings for Synchronization (like what all data to backup).A list is shown with empty boxes on the left. Just tick the necessary boxes with the help of the mouse & click the “Next” button on the bottom right side.
Then the final screen comes asking for your conformation, i.e. if the settings you have set is correct. Click finish. If everything has set properly the phone and the PC will start synchronizing.
